300-001 Heavy Oil Applications - Field Services Manager (Calgary) POSITION SUMMARY
Position reports to: Operations and Engineering Director
Frequently Interfaces with:
1. Field Service Teams
2. Clients
3. Academic institutions and associations
The Manager will have the mandate to execute the deployment of new technology and services provided by the Client. The Candidate will develop and provide the training and processes as well as facilitate the equipment necessary to deliver the companies applications. For the most part the Manager’s responsibilities will exercised at client’s operations. Therefore the Candidate should be able and prepared to work in the field as required.
The Candidate will direct the engineering support to optimize and /or revise existing processes and equipment. Collaboration with clients regarding the most effective utilization of the company’s applications will be a key to success. It is expected that the Manager will proactively provide the technical support required by field staff and clients alike. Integral to the role is sound budget and cost management. It is expected that the Manager model and advance sound HSE principles.
Although much of the manager’s focus will be on applications in the Canadian Heavy Oil sector he/she will be expected to assist the firm in applying expertise internationally as well. Therefore international travel is a requirement of the position.
POSITION COMPETENCIES
Technical Skills:
University graduate in Engineering
10+ years experience in heavy oil production with at least 5 of it gained in Canadian heavy oil production
Experience in a Supervisory role leading field staff; specifically ability to lead, mentor and give direction on project initiatives
Demonstrated project management and negotiation skills
Working knowledge of Scada systems
SAGD/Cyclic steam injection experience is desirable
Some international work experience is desirable.

This person needs to be technically competent as an independent consultant and have a strong but friendly demeanor with clients, who are mostly successful entrepreneurs. The job scope would be to initially work closely with management in running the day to day affairs of the company and gradually take on more responsibility, eventually performing most of the current working duties on the conventional Company’s domestic evaluations.
The staff currently consists of about 15, four to five senior engineers, a geologist/petrophysicist, a geophysicist, a couple technologists and admin staff. The company has some technical specialties, but the most common projects involve corporate and individual property evaluations for securities reporting and new listings. This includes conventional property evaluations and pre-drill prospect analyses, which involve geological interpretation and risk analysis. The Company’s international work has been growing rapidly because of its broad experience worldwide. Our staff also prepares reservoir engineering studies for clients as an extension to their staff for internal purposes and provides assistance with acquisition analyses for companies, internally.
The ideal candidate will be a strong technical and management professional. The job would entail working cooperatively with Senior Staff, overseeing the work progress and ensuring compliance with our standards, with security commission standards and client expectations for timing as well as carrying some projects personally. The job requires an overview of the Company’s business but it is a working position. In a consulting firm like this everyone needs to generate revenue for the company.

101-204 Chief Financial Officer (Calgary) THE COMPANY
The hiring Company is a junior oil and gas exploration company that was formed to participate in oil and gas exploration, development, and production in Canada. Specifically, the Company intends to generate and develop its own prospects, acquire oil and gas properties and participate with joint ventures and other industry partners in oil and gas exploration and development in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin. THE POSITION
The Chief Financial Officer will be based in Calgary, Alberta and will report directly to the President & Chief Executive Officer (Vancouver). The CFO will be responsible for all accounting, treasury, finance, information technology and investor relations activities. This role will have one direct report and will be responsible for overseeing all outsourced finance and accounting functions as well as being responsible for maintaining relationships with the Company’s professional advisors, such as banks, legal firms and auditors. Key accountabilities include: Preparation of quarterly financial statements and related public disclosure documents, in concert with the Company’s service providers;
Preparation of the Audit Committee package and presentation of the quarterly results to the Audit Committee;
Coordinating and working with the Company’s CEO to prepare news releases and MD&A documents;
Attending Board of Directors meetings upon invitation as the Company’s finance representative and assisting the CEO with developing financial strategies for the Company;
Guiding the development of the annual business plan and subsequently preparation of the annual business plan and associated operating and capital budgets, as well as preparing and presenting the quarterly reporting against the Plan;
Overseeing the monthly accounting routines performed by a third party supplier; investing surplus funds in accordance with the Company’s investment policy;
Preparing business case models and forecasting scenarios for business planning;
Maintaining relationships with auditors and overseeing the annual external audit process for the Company;
Managing the treasury function, including relationships with various banks;
Maintaining relationships with the Company’s insurance broker, including review, maintenance and renewal of insurance coverage;
Preparing grant applications and ensuring the required reporting conditions are met for the Alberta Energy Grant and future Federal Grant programs;
Managing the Company Investor Relations program. This includes organizing public documents consistent with the Company’s disclosure policy and procedures, drafting news releases, responding to shareholder calls and other contacts, preparation of information packages, investor presentations and other public Company information;
Ensuring compliance with government and reporting regulations, including the Company’s continuous disclosure obligations and CEO/CFO certification requirements;
Establishing and maintaining financial policies and procedures to ensure proper accounting standards and controls;
Achieving Company corporate objectives and key performance targets as laid out in the long-range and annual business and strategic plans; and
Ensuring that the day-to-day business affairs of the Company are appropriately managed.
THE INDIVIDUAL

It is critical that candidates possess the following education, experience and personality attributes: An accounting designation, with a minimum 10 years of increasingly more senior financial experience;
A broad cross-section of experience that includes understanding financial reporting, internal controls systems, accounting policies and procedures, financial information systems, financing and the development and implementation of accounting system work processes;
Strong leadership skills;
A track record of success in dealing with banks and external auditors;
Public company experience, including a working knowledge of public company reporting and CEO/CFO certification requirements, would be an asset;
